We’re growing rapidly at NanoLumens and I am spending a lot of time recruiting and interviewing. In an incestuous industry like mine (LED/AV Display products), there is a lot of knowledge that can be gained during the interview process. Over the last three business days, I’ve talked with major industry players and have learned a tremendous amount of information about our market, other technology providers, and the buyer community. Its by no means the reason to interview, but it sure is a perk.
Who says you shouldn’t learn a thing or two in an interview?
I recommend learning as much as you can while conducting interviews with candidates who have significant industry experience . Is there anything wrong with this approach to gathering market intelligence? Have you experienced something similar?
